The design brief was to create a contemporary alteration and addition to the existing house. The design needed to redesign the ground floor layout, open up the space to create a more quality space for the family to live and retreat within, bring abundant natural light to the interior and to bring the exterior in (garden views).

 

The transition between the existing house to the new contemporary rear/upper level addition, is approached, internally and externally, using innovative design and original use of materials, bringing harmony between the contemporary design and the existing house character without compromising the design flow and aesthetic of the existing house.
